Well there's nothing in this area, so I thought I'd write a post. I saw a really fantastic movie a few weeks ago called "The Anarchists Cookbook". Yes, like the book. It's about a household of people who live peacefully in the most anarchist way possible in capitalist America. Then this guy comes along, armed with the Anarchist Cookbook, and turns everything upside down. The filming is great, really interesting and artistic. The story is good. There are funny parts, and sad parts, I found it pretty realistic. I would really recommend this movie. It says a lot about social anarchism, and how it can go wrong. It appeals to me, because I'm a social anarchist myself :P

An Open Invitation:

Hello one and all,

As noted in the past, I am relatively new to the area (Moved to Qualicum in August, have been staying in Vancuver since the 20th).  Since I'm heading back to the island on the second week of the new year, I figured while I'm here I might as well take in a couple of shows.  This here be my open invitation to anyone who would like to come with.  If there's a movie you've been itchin to see, but haven't gotten round to it, maybe I can encourage you ;D .  If you're interested, give me a shout on MSN or through email.

Watched a movie called "May" a while back... took it out against my better judgement (the description on the box makes it sound pretty lame).  To my surprise, it was actually very good... sort of a "dark comedy", with heavy emphasis on "dark".

Actually, I am looking for a copy of it, but can't seem to locate it in the city for purchase  :'(

Other than that, one of the other "surprises" that stand out from recent memory is the Anime series "Lain".  Think of a cross between William Gibson and "Twin Peaks"... an excellent series if you can find it (lasted 12 episodes, if I remember correctly...)
