Forum:

FRIENDS! Yes, Parade of Lost Souls is back again. As you may have heard, the beloved Public Dreams has closed and passed the torch to your friends at the old Dusty Flowerpot.

Come one come all! It is the time for celebration and for ceremony. For reflection and renewal. Wear a costume. Bring an instrument. Make a dance. Join a dance. This parade is for you and by you, all the lost souls of the world. Bring your past and your presence for a celebration of life, and depth. We may all be lost, but at least we are lost together. Let the revelry begin, at the Parade of Lost Souls!

Let it be known that there is NO GRANTS, FINANCIAL SUPPORT or FUNDING for this event. Hard costs (such as permits and potties) come from the generous donations of the people that come.... This festival IS really about what YOU bring!!!!!!

AND.....This is an invitation to bring it. Seriously neighbours, Lets get creative like you've always wanted to! Bring your fantastic masqueraded self! Make and bring a lantern! Make a rolling shrine that honours your ancestors! Get involved in a workshop (listed below)! Make a masquerade! Throw down a crazy installation! What about a performance? ...got one? ...want to create one? Make a giant puppet! Help puppeteer one thats already made! Have a workshop you'd like to offer? Want to be involved but would like some guidance? To volunteer, be a part of a performance or the production team; contact Kat at: katsingledain@gmail.com

ON THE THEME: As you know, this harvest time is simultaneously a celebration of life and an acknowledgement of death. This year we will be looking at the life and death of civilizations, presently and throughout history. Include the animal kingdom in your musings on this topic. Throw the net wide, pass this call out on to friends and let your mind wander as far as it can go. We will be here to greet you when you return....

There are many people working behind the scenes to make this year's parade happen. Please don't hesitate to contact us to get involved in performance, volunteering or production! katsingledain@gmail.com
love,
Your Dusty friends

THE SOUNDERS
The Sounders are other worldly masked creatures that create beautiful music together. Equal parts visual art and sound, the ensemble will be unified in dress with megaphone masks! In this two part workshop participants will make wonderful take home masks out of paper-mache and practice the amazing group performance for this years Parade. Hosted by Nayana Filekov

THRILLER
Let's party like it's 1899...learn the ORIGINAL CHOREOGRAPHY of Michael Jackson's record setting break out hit Thriller! Come to at least two of these rehearsals…or all if you can. Kat is very precise about teaching it exactly as MJ did it-- to the step--which means that you can do your homework by watching the video and mirroring the zombies. If you get stuck, just ask yourself, What Would Michael Do?
