anyone know if it's open again?

Oddly enough, yes, many of these clubs had floor shows that included hula dances, fire-eaters, and whatnot. There was a big revival of the Tiki-lounge thing in the mid-90's and a promotion group called "Blue Lizard" threw regular parties in the old Waldorf Polynesian lounges. Their New Year's parties were especially awesome.

Polynesian themed clubs were all the rage in the early 60's. The lounges in the Waldorf Hotel (where Cirque de Sade is held) are an unalterted remnant of those days.

I hope you're referring to the actual, real shower and not anything metaphor-y....

nonetheless, i think i'll avoid sitting down next time I'm there.
