I like Pink Floyd.

i love the Scissor Sisters cover of Comfortably Numb.

And I'm not afraid to tell the world.

Cash... Rebel Johnny Yuma and When the Man Comes Around are my faves.

lol ok and i was thinking again today what about Hey You when the line comes. it was only fanstasy the wall was to high as you can see nomatter how he tried he could not break free and the worms ate into his brain. could that possibly be being burried alive? the wals being the sides in the whole in the ground worms eat you when you die no matter how he tried he oculd not break free struggling to break out of the dirt ....ok the first thing you'll have to do before you answer that is try to figure out what im saying bcause im to lazy for puncuation marks.

Side bar...  Did you know that Alice Cooper is a self proclaimed fan of Celine Dion?  He can't stand what she chooses to sing, but he feels she has an amazing voice.

Just thought I'd mention that with him being listed as an influence above.

I always understood the song Comfortably Numb to be a commentary on the slime behind the music business.  THose that use up an artist for all they can, just to line their pockets and dump the artist in the refuse when no more blood is left to be squeezed.

Ok.

Just a little pinprick.

There'll be no more ...Aaaaaahhhhh!

But you may feel a little sick.

Can you stand up?

I do believe it's working. Good.

That'll keep you going for the show.

Come on it's time to go.

It wasn't an uncommon practice for managers to drug up performers just to get them on stage for a night.  And as it's talking about injectables, I don't know how good an arguement it would make for supporting the use of Pot.  In my opinion, comfortably numb is a very sad song... not about kicking back and relaxing, but about the loss of something greatly valued.

I consider Pink Floyd a precursor band that most definitely influenced the development of post-punk gloom rock. Pink Floyd, the Doors, Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, David Bowie... all important bands/musicians. Both Adam Ant and the Cure were strongly influenced by the Doors. Pink Floyd's experimental albums like "Ummagumma" had a strong influence on the development of first-wave electronic (Kraftwerk) and industrial (Einstürzende Neubauten) music. And there is no mistaking the Pink Floyd influence in Bauhaus' "Bela Lugosi's Dead".

Ex nihil nihilo fit.

i used to like them, after a bad memory by the song called ''welcome to the machine'' i cant listen to pink floyd anymore

I love Pink Floyd, not because the music is depressing, because it isn't depressing. Pink Floyd are amazing, their music is beautiful, occasionaly haunting, always thought provoking. Pink Floyd are my argument for derciminalising pot!

Yes, that is Comfortably Numb, and I think, don't hold me to it, that he is talking about taking a hit. Kinda like Bowie's Space Oddity, only without the O.D and death.

i like pink floyd most of the songs are depressing and relaxing.

oh
