Gothic BC

I'm moving to Vancouver from Australia in roughly six months, and I don't know when I'll be going back, if ever, so my plans of starting a band with a couple of friends here are pretty much shot through. So I have decided I aught to give it a shot in the new world.

So is there anybody in the Vancouver area interested in forming a band? Do you know of any? I'm into Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Slint, Marilyn Manson, Larks Tongues in Aspic/Lizard era King Crimson and Pink Floyd (and I'm open to just about any other kind of music you can throw at me). I play a bit of piano (I don't read music), have past experience in playing both the saxaphone and violin so I can pick those back up any time, and I have a limited singing voice good for harmonies and occasional "metal-voice" antics. I'm looking for like-minded people who are able to work collaboratively. This isn't me with a backing band. I don't care what you play, or if you can play (I'm patient and we can learn as we go). All I want is dedication and good ideas.
