Fashion faux-pas: the faux-hawk

You've seen these - they look like someone has simply done the "slick the hair together at the top" thing like a kid with shampoo in his hair. The hair on the sides isn't any shorter. Rinse out the gel and it's an ordinary haircut. What exactly is the message behind such lameness? Why not just write "poseur" on your forehead with a Jiffy-marker?

If you ever see anyone with hair like this, give them a thurough noogie. Not only do they deserve it, but it will destroy the faux-hawk in the process.

It's just the look without the effort, I've only ever seen persian looking guys in pastle shirts wearing these. I think it's supposed to be the 'hardcore' contrast to the pink shirt.
