Merry Christmas!

As Christmas is coming up quickly, I just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas.  It is my favourite day of the year for a few reasons.  I absolutely love giving gifts, I love showering people with love and so the traditional gift-exchange is so much fun.

The thing I love most about Christmas, though, is getting to spend time with my family to honour the birth of Christ (despite the fact that there is a very good chance he wasn't born in December) in prayer, in feasting and in spending time with one another.  Christmas is very important to my family and always has been.  The decorations go up December first, every year, and Christmas music takes over the stereo speakers.  My mum bakes non-stop, the house always smelling of gingerbread or candy cane cookies and there is a general air of happiness.  I've missed out on much of that this year, not living at home, but that warm glow hasn't left me.

I hope that all of you, Christian or not, take December 25th as a day to commune with the people you love, to share with them and make memories with them.  I wish you all the merriest of Christmases.

(Don't forget to be safe this holiday season!  If you've been drinking, don't be driving!
