I was finally able to make it over to the mainland for a night of drinking, dancing, and general merriment. I have to admit that my suspicions about the people of BC were quite accurate
You truly are a friendly and inviting bunch.
I nearly tread down the wrong path on my way to Sonar, when a kind couple directed me to the right path (it was actually the left path, but you know what I mean :)). Once in line outside I hade the chance to meet many more friendly people; all ready for a night of good times. The security people at the door were also very polite (though I dont know if I should be offended that I was only required to show one piece of ID ;D). The bar staff was great, helping me select a desirable beverage after I had missed with my usual choices. The location itself was also quite impressive. I dont think Ive been in such a beautiful establishment in the last five years (maybe even longer). But the thing that most pleased me, the thing that stood out amongst all this splendour, the thing that just made my night was
the patrons. You guys are fantastic. I am, by nature, a very shy person. Ive been known to be a little timid when it comes to meeting new people. Try imagining that as I walk into a new place, all by my lonesome, for the first time ever. Everyone who I went to talk to was at the very least polite and cordial, and most were just plain friendly. It was probably one of the most encouraging nights out Ive ever had.
So I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to those I met at the Sanctuary (a place that has well lived up to its name). Thank you so much for making the new guy feel at home, especially when he was so far away from anything he knew as home. I hope to see you all again some time soon.
Most Sincerely,
Swoopguy
(aka the bald, blue demon)
PS Thanks to Atratus and Valerian for hosting this site, without which I would not have been able meet so many nice people. Hopefully next time Ill be able to thank you in person.
